Dining Room pt. 3

These shots show the wall paint color we chose. We feel it goes very nicely with the trim. The room also feels much larger with the shelves removed. Next steps are to do all the touch up work and clean up.

After the patching was to satisfaction the priming began. These photos also show an early coat of the new trim paint.

Dining Room pt. 1

About two months ago we moved the desk and computer into the large family room area of the house. We did this with the idea that the room we had used as the den would become the dining room. The room needed a lot of work though. For starters the trim paint was this harsh shade of red which we did not like. There were also these terrible shelves on the wall we wanted to get rid of. It turned out the shelves were very poorly built and actually covered up holes in the wall. We started by tearing out the shelves and patching the wall.

When I removed the top of the shelf this little treasure was revealed. The small piece of wood painted the same way as the shelves themselves had been tucked up in the ceiling.
